Our client is seeking a proactive Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their team, specializing in HV/MV design. This individual should possess hands-on experience and the ability to work independently.

Our commitment involves delivering top-notch solutions in electrical design, installation, inspection, commissioning, and maintenance for tailored and complete turnkey projects.
Key Responsibilities/Duties
- Conduct engineering studies using leading software (PowerFactory, CDEGs, CYMCAP) for protection coordination, load flow, power quality, earthing, lightning protection, insulation coordination, dynamic analysis, etc.
- Prepare equipment specifications and evaluate technical offers.
- Collaborate with manufacturers to ensure equipment aligns with design specifications.
- Engage with clients to understand and address their needs.
- Design protection and control schemes.
- Create engineering drawings, including substation layouts, elevations, and lightning zones.
- Develop panel schematic drawings using EPLAN.
- Perform on-site inspections and testing.
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements, including compiling Risk Assessments and Method Statements, and conducting on-site risk assessments.
- Attend FATs for HV switchgear, transformers, and protection cabinets.
- Prepare, evaluate, and present tender documentation.
- Write technical reports.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Electrical Engineering Degree
- 5+years of experience.
- Safe pass (Can be arranged).
- Full clean driving licence.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with HV substation design (10kV to 220kV).
- Proficiency in engineering software packages, e.g., Powerfactory.
- Familiarity with ESB standards.
