Civil Design Engineer - Roads and Drainage

Ireland’s largest Irish owned consultancy is seeking to recruit a Civil Design Engineer to join their Infrastructure team. The post will suit candidates with a minimum 3 years’ experience keen to apply their professional skills and experience in a busy and dynamic civil, structural and environmental engineering practice.

The company has centres of excellence in Civil Infrastructure, Waste & Resource Management and Renewables. They provides design and contract management services for the construction of infrastructure projects such as roads, bridgeworks, rail, solid waste facilities, renewable energy, drainage, water and wastewater treatment facilities, airports, tunnels and gas pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Civil engineering design including roads, highways, greenways, car parking and sustainable stormwater drainage design
  • Planning and managing CAD documentation, working closely with CAD Technicians
  • Working closely with other Engineers and Graduates
  • Attend onsite meetings with the client and other professionals
  • Ensure projects are delivered to the timescales, quality and costs agreed with the client
  • Ensure compliance with our Quality Assurance and Management Systems
  • Ensure compliance with the relevant Health and Safety legislation

Skills / Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 3 years post-graduate experience in Civil Engineering
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer status
  • Experienced in the civil design of Infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and AutoCADS Civil 3D is a plus
  • Working knowledge of civil design software
  • Experience working in a Consulting Engineering or similar company
  • Excellent communication, management, analytical and organisational skills required
  • Experience working and co-ordinating with technical specialists and engineers
  • Efficient work methods, functioning both as part of team and on own initiative
  • Experience organizing and delivering complex tasks involving multiple parties within a short timeframe
  • The ability to adopt and work to new procedures and systems quickly
  • Must be prepared to travel to site visits and client meetings
  • Full Drivers Licence
