Contaminated Land Consultant (Contamination Team)

We have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and enthusiastic hydrogeologist to join our contaminated land team as a Contaminated Land Consultant. This is a full-time, permanent position based in either Dublin or Wexford. We also offer a hybrid work environment, supported by advanced IT systems and software management tools.

As a Contaminated Land Consultant, you will be part of a dynamic team providing professional services for complex contaminated land and hydrogeology assessments. Your work will involve supporting due diligence assessments for property acquisition and divestiture, as well as providing expertise in IPPC, IED, and waste-licensed facilities, including license applications, compliance, and surrender. You will also contribute to the assessment of unregulated landfill sites for both private sector clients and local authorities. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to staying updated with changing legislation and industry trends. Strong project management skills, the ability to motivate others, and excellent attention to detail are essential for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Project management of contaminated land projects.

  • Designing, managing, and supervising site investigations and sampling, including fieldwork.

  • Conducting Contaminated Land/Hydrogeology Risk Assessments and Waste Classification Assessments.

  • Preparation of technical reports and deliverables.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

  • Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or Environmental Science/Engineering, with a Master’s Degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a consultancy working on contaminated land.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet project milestones.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a larger project team.

  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental management.

  • Knowledge of Irish and EU environmental legislation and industry best practice standards/guidelines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, GIS packages, and environmental software.

  • Working towards chartership with a professional body such as IGI, IEI, or CIWEM.

  • Full clean driving license.
