Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer to join their Roads and Transportation Division. This role can be based in any one of their multiple Irish offices or on a hybrid working arrangement. The position of Design Engineer within our clients company requires a minimum Level 8 Honours Degree qualification in Civil/Transport Engineering (or equivalent qualification appropriate to the tasks assigned) and in general, the title may apply to staff that have between 2 and 6 years’ experience depending on the knowledge and skills gained over the course of their career to date.
Duties and Responsibilities:
As a member of a team within our clients department and through mentoring with senior members of staff within their company, the Design Engineer will be required to undertake the following duties:
- Where directed by the Project Manager, liaise with clients to deliver the required deliverables.
- Engage with Local Authorities and Stakeholders.
- Review documents and designs prepared by Graduate Engineers.
- Preparation of Traffic and Mobility Reports.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary team.
- Proficient in analysing data and problem solving skills.
- Management of sub-consultants.
- Undertake Transport Modelling.
- Take instruction from their Line Manager (and where appropriate the relevant Project Manager and senior members of the project teams).
The Skills Required of a Design Engineer:
- Excellent written and verbal (English) communication and interpersonal
- communication skills.
- Strong knowledge with the application of Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD 2D and/or AutoCAD 3D.
- Expertise in the use of PICADY, ARCADY and LinSig software.
