Our client is currently in search of an Engineering/Design Manager to join the Rail team based in any of their offices across Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career within a leading consultancy environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide overall engineering and technical leadership for rail engineering projects in Ireland.
- Serve as a Design or Engineering Manager on projects.
- Manage the multi-disciplinary design process, ensuring alignment with guidance, standards, and client requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all technical aspects related to rail in Ireland.
- Lead a team of engineers and discipline leads, including line management responsibilities.
- Develop technical/quality proposals for new commissions.
- Implement a robust quality management system.
- Hold Chartered status with Engineers Ireland or an equivalent professional institution.
- Prioritize safe-by-design principles throughout the design and delivery process.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement in personal and team performance.
Desirable skills/attributes:
- Hold a degree at level 8/9 in engineering.
- Possess a minimum of 15 years of postgraduate experience, primarily in a consultancy environment.
- Have experience delivering projects to BIM Level 2 equivalent.
- Maintain awareness of developing technologies and industry best practices.
- Effective communication skills in written, verbal, and presentation formats.
- Hold a full driving license.
