Gaia’s client is looking for dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team in Dublin, Cork, or Castlebar offices.

Location: Dublin, Cork, or Castlebar on a hybrid basis with site work as required

Position details: Full-time and permanent position (37.5 hours weekly)

About the role:

As an Energy Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering excellent engineered solutions to our clients. Your expertise in energy consultancy and energy management will be essential in providing Energy Auditing, Energy Efficient Design, Renewable Energy Feasibility, and design solutions. You will also have the opportunity to work on Planning Applications and administer contracts using both the Public Works and FIDIC Contracts. As part of the team, you will collaborate on various renewable energy projects, including Solar PV, Wind, Hydro, and Biogas, and conduct feasibility assessments with cost-benefit analysis.

To excel in this role we expect from you: 

  • An honors degree (level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications) or equivalent professional qualification in civil, mechanical, electrical, or energy engineering, as applicable to the role.
  • At least 5 years of post-graduate relevant experience in energy consultancy and energy management.
  • Proficiency in Energy Auditing, Energy Efficient Design, and Renewable Energy Feasibility and design.
  • Experience in administering contracts using both the Public Works and FIDIC Contracts.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of BIM.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A full driving license.

It’s desirable to have: 

  • Experience in renewable energy projects, including Solar PV, Wind, Hydro, and Biogas.
  • Energy Auditing experience of industrial sites.
  • Energy Efficient Design for MEICA and Building upgrade works.
  • Feasibility assessments for renewable energy with cost-benefit analysis.
  • Site Surveys and Assessments.
  • Experience in liaison with ESB and Grid Connections.
  • Experience with water/wastewater treatment plant projects.
  • Good knowledge and awareness of Health & Safety legislation and regulations.
  • Experience with software packages to design solar and wind generation.
