Title: Environmental Consultant

Location: Dublin City with travels across Ireland (hybrid)

Work Arrangement: Full-time & Permanent

Salary Range: €32,000 – €42,000 DOE

Job Purpose:

The role holder will lead the delivery of a range of diverse environmental projects to existing and future clients. The Environmental Consultant will be instrumental in the successful delivery of client services to:

  • Actively participate in the delivery of a range of client projects.
  • Conduct compliance and inspection activities on behalf of public sector clients across a range of environmental regulations and legislation related to waste, water, circular economy and energy use.
  • Review and interpret technical literature such as legislation, guidance & policy documents and research papers.
  • Produce project outputs (e.g., technical progress reports, specifications) meeting all client and legislative requirements.
  • Support key clients with technical input, advice and training on a wide range of environmental areas.
  • Stakeholder engagement to agree and follow up on corrective action.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical reports, environmental incident investigation reports and case file management.
  • Support on delivery of other, multi-annual contracts as required.
  • Maintain an excellent understanding of relevant environmental legislation.
  • Client engagement throughout the lifecycle of projects, providing timely and relevant progress updates as appropriate.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team environment, in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities and deadline pressures.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 2-3 years experience within the environmental and waste sector.
  • A minimum of NFQ level 8 in a relevant environmental discipline.
  • Project management experience, including overseeing audit and inspection plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team environment, in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities and deadline pressures.
  • Ability to gather and analyse facts, draw conclusions, define problems and suggest solutions.
  • Experience in managing client relationships, understanding their challenges and ambitions and delivering on growth opportunities.
  • A full clean driver’s licence is desired.
