Graduate Engineer – Water & Utilities

About the Role
A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Graduate Engineer to join its growing Water & Utilities team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer to develop practical skills while working on a diverse range of infrastructure projects.
You will work alongside experienced engineers and technicians, receiving mentoring and support while gaining valuable exposure to design, surveying and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, REVIT, ArcGIS and SketchUp.
- Carry out topographical surveys using GPS equipment and Total Stations.
- Produce detailed engineering and construction drawings.
- Check drawings for accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
- Assist engineers and technicians with detailing, design and technical sketches.
- Collaborate with clients, engineers and multidisciplinary design teams.
- Maintain accurate records of drawings, files and project documentation.
- Follow direction from Line Managers, Project Managers and senior team members.
- Support the successful delivery of projects within agreed programmes and budgets.
Requirements
- Minimum NCEA Certificate in Civil Engineering, Construction Studies, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Recent graduates or candidates with relevant practical experience are welcome.
- Interest in water, wastewater, utilities and civil infrastructure projects.
- Good technical, organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
- Familiarity with CAD or engineering design software would be advantageous.
