Graduate Engineer – Water & Utilities

Location: Castlebar, Limerick or Galway
Job Type: Full-time

About the Role

A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Graduate Engineer to join its growing Water & Utilities team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer to develop practical skills while working on a diverse range of infrastructure projects.

You will work alongside experienced engineers and technicians, receiving mentoring and support while gaining valuable exposure to design, surveying and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, REVIT, ArcGIS and SketchUp.
  • Carry out topographical surveys using GPS equipment and Total Stations.
  • Produce detailed engineering and construction drawings.
  • Check drawings for accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Assist engineers and technicians with detailing, design and technical sketches.
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers and multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of drawings, files and project documentation.
  • Follow direction from Line Managers, Project Managers and senior team members.
  • Support the successful delivery of projects within agreed programmes and budgets.

Requirements

  • Minimum NCEA Certificate in Civil Engineering, Construction Studies, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Recent graduates or candidates with relevant practical experience are welcome.
  • Interest in water, wastewater, utilities and civil infrastructure projects.
  • Good technical, organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
  • Familiarity with CAD or engineering design software would be advantageous.
