LVIA Specialist / Landscape Planner
About the Role
An established planning and environmental consultancy is seeking an experienced LVIA Specialist / Landscape Planner to join its growing Landscape and Visual team in Galway.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to work on a diverse portfolio of large-scale projects across renewable energy, sustainable transport, residential, greenway, tourism and urban development.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments while contributing to project management, technical quality and team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Scope, prepare and review Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIAs) for projects of varying scales.
- Prepare landscape and visual chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports.
- Undertake site visits, fieldwork and technical photography to support assessments.
- Carry out mapping, spatial analysis and produce high-quality GIS outputs.
- Apply recognised best-practice guidance and Irish assessment requirements.
- Contribute to the strategic development of LVIA projects and promote industry best practice.
- Manage projects from inception to completion, including scope, fees, invoicing, profitability and client delivery.
- Coordinate with clients, project teams, stakeholders and specialist consultants.
- Guide and support junior team members and sub-consultants.
- Maintain high standards of technical quality, presentation and reporting.
About You
- Third-level qualification in Landscape Planning, Landscape Architecture, Geography, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience conducting LVIAs or equivalent assessments.
- Strong understanding of the LVIA process and recognised professional guidance in Ireland.
- Excellent report writing, presentation and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical ability.
- Innovative, confident and creative approach to landscape and visual assessment.
- Good project management and organisational skills.
- Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Valid driving licence.
