We are seeking a Resident Engineer to join one of our teams in either Galway or Naas. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in roads and transport infrastructure, as well as a Level 8 Degree in Civil Engineering.
Key responsibilities and desirable skills and attributes include:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the civil engineering industry, including 2 years of construction phase involvement in the supervision and administration of Public Works Contract for Civil Engineering Works
- Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Office programs
- Experience in administering contracts using the Public Works form of contracts, including the processing of Valuations and assessment of Claims
- Supervising and inspecting the construction of roadworks including pavement, drainage, ducting, signage, lighting, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Experience in record keeping and reporting on contractor progress
- The ability to work independently and under own initiative to achieve project goals
- Knowledge of current H&S regulations and best practices
- A full driving license and a valid SafePass
The ideal candidate will also have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, a flexible approach with the ability to multitask and prioritize as needed, a positive outlook and approachable manner, and be well-motivated and able to work alone or as part of a team when required.
