Job description
Our client is seeking to recruit a Senior Drainage Engineer to join their Infrastructure team in the Cork, Dublin or Carlow office. The post will suit candidates with a minimum of 7 years’ experience keen to apply their professional skills and experience in a busy and dynamic civil, structural and environmental engineering practice. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to acquire a broad range of professional skills and experiences with support from mentors across several disciplines. This position offers exposure to a number of project types within the company, as they have a broad spectrum of ongoing projects and can offer the successful candidate a clear path for career development.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of drainage systems for highways, wind and solar farms, urban developments and other infrastructure projects
- Lead the hydrological and flood risk assessment for various sites
- Working knowledge of modelling software such as Micro Drainage, Causeway Flow and/or Autodesk Storm and Sewer
- Act as a member of the design team, helping to ensure projects are delivered to the timescales, quality and costs agreed with the client
- Planning and managing CAD documentation working closely with Engineering Technicians
- Attend onsite meetings with the client and other professionals
- Ensure compliance with our Quality Assurance and Management Systems
- Ensure compliance with the relevant health and safety legislation
- Coordinating his/her work with other members of the project team
Skills / Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering or another relevant degree
- Minimum 7 years of post-graduate experience
- Chartered Engineer status preferred
- Experienced in the design of highway drainage systems including SuDs
- Experience working in a Consulting Engineering or similar company
- Excellent communication, management, analytical and organisational skills required
- Experience working and coordinating with technical specialists and engineers
- Efficient work methods, functioning both as part of the team and on own initiative
- Experience organizing and delivering complex tasks involving multiple parties within a short timeframe
- The ability to adapt and work with new procedures and systems quickly
- Must be prepared to travel to site visits and client meetings
- Full Drivers Licence
