Our client is seeking to recruit a Senior Environmental Planner / EIA Co-ordinator to join their growing team, with the potential to base yourself at any of their multiple UK offices. The current core environmental planning team includes planning, EIA, landscape and visual assessment, graphics and visualisation. The wider consultancy team includes noise, ecology, air quality, water and land contamination specialists which the environmental planning team have access to. Current projects include renewables and building developments, for industrial and commercial clients and they are engaged with delivering on the net zero agenda.

The individual should complement current expertise in order to service new opportunities and grow the team. They are a flexible employer and are willing to consider any working arrangement that is mutually agreeable. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and position requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary EIA projects from inception to completion.
  • Conduct thorough environmental assessments and prepare comprehensive EIA reports.
  • Provide expert advice on environmental planning, regulations, and best practices.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and the public to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources efficiently.
  • Mentor and support junior staff members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Stay updated with the latest environmental laws, regulations, and industry developments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in EIA coordination and environmental planning.
  • Strong understanding of EIA processes, environmental legislation, and planning policies.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in environmental assessment tools and software.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., IEMA, RTPI) is highly desirable.
