Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in HV/MV design. As a prominent high-voltage and medium-voltage engineering services provider in Ireland, the UK, and Europe, our client is renowned for delivering top-tier solutions across various segments. Their services encompass high and medium-voltage electrical design, installation, inspection, commissioning, and maintenance for tailored and turnkey solutions.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- Conduct engineering studies utilizing industry-leading software (PowerFactory, CDEGs, CYMCAP) covering protection coordination, load flow, power quality, earthing, lightning protection, insulation coordination, dynamic studies, and more.
- Prepare equipment specifications and conduct technical evaluations of equipment offers.
- Liaise with manufacturers to ensure equipment aligns with design specifications.
- Interact with clients and contribute to the design of protection and control schemes.
- Prepare engineering drawings, including substation layouts, elevations, lightning zones, etc.
- Create panel schematic drawings using EPLAN.
- Perform on-site inspections and testing.
- Fulfill all safety requirements, including compiling Risk Assessments and Method Statements, and conduct on-site risk assessments.
- Attend FATs for HV switchgear, transformers, and protection cabinets.
- Prepare tender documentation, participate in evaluations, and contribute to presentations.
- Engage in technical report writing.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Electrical Engineering Degree.
- 5-10 years of experience.
- Safe pass.
- Full clean driving license.
- Computer literate – proficient in Microsoft packages, etc.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with HV substation design from 10kV to 220kV.
- Knowledge of engineering software packages, e.g., PowerFactory.
- Familiarity with ESB standards.
