Our client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to be based in their Dublin office to take the lead in the delivery of Electrical Engineering design elements of building and site development projects.
Responsibilities:
- Serving as the Lead Electrical Engineer within Multidiscipline Design Teams.
- Ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations, including the Ancillary Certificate of Compliance for Building Regulations, relevant Codes, Design Construction Risk Assessment, and NZEB.
- Providing design input and overseeing the implementation of all Electrical components in projects.
- Generating project reports, such as Particular Specifications and Forms of Tender, for Planning, Tender, and Construction Stages.
- Developing fee proposals and submitting quality proposals for design contracts involving both public and private clients.
- Engaging in Business Development activities and facilitating communication with internal and external stakeholders through email and meetings.
- Conducting thorough reviews of design drawings and documentation before release.
- Evaluating proposals from Contractors and Design Teams.
- Fulfilling the responsibilities of a Designer as defined by the SHWW(C) Regulations.
Requirements:
- Experience in designing, specifying, and overseeing on-site installation of the following:
- Medium & Low Voltage infrastructure
- LV switchgears and cabling
- UPS systems
- Generator power management
- Vertical Transport systems
- Public and Street Lighting infrastructure
- Lighting and emergency lighting systems
- Fire alarm systems
- Security systems
- BMS (Building Management Systems)
- Information and Communication Technology infrastructure
- Containment solutions (e.g., telephones, intercoms, data cables, and wireless internet connections)
- Lightning protection measures
- Proficiency in sustainable design
- Familiarity with design software such as Dialux, Lighting Reality, and Amtech.
Desirable:
- Membership in any Engineering Professional Body.
- Chartered Engineer status (Preferred).
- Experience in staff management and Client interaction.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Experience in financial management of design budgets.
- Ability to fulfill the Ancillary Certifier role on projects.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Good listening skills and effective communication.
- Positive outlook and approachable demeanor.
- Experience in delivering Electrical Engineering Design.
- Flexibility with the ability to multitask and prioritize as needed.
- Well-motivated, capable of both team and independent work.
- Familiarity with aviation (an advantage but not required).
- Understanding of BIM processes, AutoCAD, and Revit.
