We are currently on the lookout for a talented Senior Environmental Consultant to join our well-established and growing Environmental and Planning Team. This is an opportunity to work on stimulating infrastructure projects across various sectors.

About the role:
As a Senior Environmental Consultant, you will lead, manage, and coordinate multidisciplinary environmental inputs to challenging and exciting infrastructure projects. Your primary focus will be on managing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) to support development consent, overseeing the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIAR) and Construction Environmental Plans, and reviewing specialist technical reports. Join our dynamic team, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to innovative solutions within integrated design teams.

Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and coordinate multidisciplinary environmental inputs to infrastructure projects.
Manage Environmental Impact Assessment projects, environmental assessment methods, and applicable planning legislation.
Collaborate with technical environmental teams and internal stakeholders.
Participate in integrated design teams to identify environmental constraints and develop solutions.
Manage resources and budgets, with support as applicable.
Lead business development opportunities and proposal development.
Promote environmental services to internal and external audiences.
Mentor junior colleagues.

To apply, is essential to demonstrate:
Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary environmental inputs to infrastructure development projects.
Proven success in managing EIA projects and knowledge of environmental assessment methods and planning legislation.
A degree in a relevant environmental discipline (preferably a Master’s degree) and appropriate professional membership.
Minimum of five years of post-graduate experience in a consultancy environment delivering environmental/planning services for large infrastructure projects.
Previous working experience in the Irish Environmental Sector or previously involved in Irish Environmental projects.
Detailed knowledge of relevant Irish and European planning and environmental legislation, including the EIA Directive and transposing Regulations.
Detailed knowledge of the Habitats Directive and the Appropriate Assessment (AA) process.
Detailed knowledge of Irish Environmental and Planning Legislation.
Excellent organizational, coordinating, and report-writing skills.
Experience in coordinating planning applications and associated documentation.

It’s desirable, but not essential:
Experience in various consenting regimes.
Membership with a relevant professional body and Chartered Environmentalist status.
Interest in line management duties and staff mentoring.
Experience utilizing GIS systems (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo).
