Senior Highways Project Engineer

We are currently seeking a Senior Highways Project Engineer to join a specialized infrastructure team based anywhere in Ireland. The ideal candidate will hold Chartered Engineer status or be on the path to achieving it, with a strong background in overseeing the delivery of highway, active travel, and/or greenway projects from planning to design phases.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of various projects related to highways, active travel, and greenways
  • Design and manage documentation utilizing CAD software, collaborating closely with CAD Technicians
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including Engineers, Ecologists, and Scientists
  • Mentor junior staff within the Infrastructure sector
  • Prepare technical reports, tenders, and proposals
  • Attend onsite meetings with clients and professionals
  • Ensure projects adhere to agreed timescales, quality standards, and budgets
  • Maintain compliance with Quality Assurance, Health and Safety regulations, and relevant design standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
  • Minimum 7 years of post-graduate experience in Civil Engineering
  • Chartered Engineer status or in the process of achieving it
  • Proficiency in design standards and guidelines such as TII, DMURS, NCM, and project appraisal guidelines
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred
  • Strong communication, management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently, meeting tight deadlines
  • Willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings
  • Valid Driver’s License
