Are you a Senior Mechanical Engineer looking for a new opportunity? One of Ireland’s leading Consulting Engineers firms is seeking Senior Mechanical Engineers for various locations across Ireland. The individual will be responsible for taking the lead in the delivery of Mechanical Engineering design elements of building projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Acting as the Lead Mechanical Engineer within Multidiscipline Design Teams.
  • Ensuring project designs and installations adhere to safety and current standards and regulations, including the Ancillary Certificate of Compliance with Building Regulations Part L and relevant Codes, as well as Design Construction Risk Assessment and NZEB.
  • Providing design input and overseeing the execution of all Mechanical aspects of projects.
  • Generating project reports, such as Particular Specification, Form of Tender, mechanical schedules, etc., for Planning, Tender, and Construction Stages.
  • Crafting fee proposals and quality submissions for design contracts involving public and private clients.
  • Engaging in Business Development activities.
  • Managing communication with both internal and external parties through email and meetings.
  • Conducting reviews of design drawings and documentation prior to release.
  • Reviewing proposals from Contractors and Design Teams.

Requirements:

  • Experience in the design, specification, and oversight of on-site installation of:
    • Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems.
    • Chilled water systems.
    • Cooling towers and condenser water systems.
    • Hot and cold-water services.
    • Drainage.
    • Soils and wastes.
    • Building Management Systems (BMS).
    • Pumps.
    • Fans.
    • Heat Pumps.
  • Ideal candidate should possess experience in sustainable design and proficiency with software such as:
    • IES.
    • Hevacomp.
    • Siteworks.
    • Cymap design software.

Desirable:

  • Qualification as a Chartered Engineer.
  • Membership in any recognized Engineering Professional Body.
  • Proven experience in client-facing roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial management of design budgets.
  • Track record of fulfilling the Ancillary Certifier role on projects.
  • Strong active listening and communication skills.
  • Previous experience in staff management.
  • Proven proficiency in delivering Mechanical Engineering Design.
  • Advanced skills in using the MS Office Suite.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
