Our client is seeking a Highways & Transportation Project Engineer with 6+ years of relevant planning and design experience. You will join our busy Highways and Transportation team based in our Dublin office. We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic, hardworking individual who is flexible, takes responsibility, and works well as part of a team.
In this role, you will be involved in pioneering, preliminary, and detailed design services, as well as coordination with other disciplines. You will also be responsible for preparing contract documentation, contract administration, and construction supervision. Additionally, there will be opportunities to deputize as a project manager, which includes tasks such as resource planning, design team leadership, technical reviewing, and financial management of projects.
Desirable Skills/Attributes:

A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in a consultancy environment.

Chartered or close to achieving Chartership.

Design team leadership and project management support.

Experience working on a broad range of projects, including active travel, urban and rural road schemes, public realm, and pavement rehabilitation for public and private sector clients.

Proficient in relevant software such as AutoCAD, Excel, Word, and Project.

Knowledge of relevant design standards, including a detailed understanding of TII Technical Standards, DMURS, National Cycle Manual, etc., and the ability to apply them to practical designs.

Experience in designing national and non-national road schemes in Ireland or equivalent.

Experience in the development of road schemes, including feasibility studies, preliminary design, planning, detailed design, tender document preparation, and contract administration.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Ability to work effectively within a team and independently to achieve project goals.

Full driving license.
