Our client is a renowned engineering consultancy known for delivering top-notch structural engineering solutions. They’re currently on the lookout for a dedicated and experienced Structural Project Engineer to join their dynamic team in a project-level role. In this position, you’ll be involved in a diverse range of projects spanning residential, commercial, educational, and healthcare buildings, as well as water retaining and wind farm infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- Degree at Level 8 in Civil Engineering or higher, preferably with a focus on Structural Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer status.
- 8 to 12 years of relevant experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the preparation of tender documents and assessments.
- Conducting site investigation works during tendering.
- Designing Eurocodes for various materials and overseeing design tasks.
- Managing more complex designs, including deep foundations and transfer structures.
- Preparing calculation packages and overseeing calculations by team members.
- Creating specification documents and technical reports.
- Collaborating with other disciplines and stakeholders.
- Supervising the development of drawings and reviewing models.
- Communicating effectively within the design team.
- Following quality management procedures and mentoring junior team members.
- Adhering to safety protocols.
- Conducting site inspections, preparing BCAR reports, and assisting in certificate preparations.
Key Skills:
- Excellent understanding of mechanics and complex structural design principles.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Organizational prowess with the ability to manage tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
- Experience with finite element packages such as Autodesk Robot, Tekla Structural Designer, CADS A3D, and other design packages.
