We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Temporary Works Engineer to join the team in London. This is a permanent role in a friendly and dynamic company that offers excellent development opportunities and a supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that temporary works are effectively planned, designed, and implemented
  • Provide expert technical support and guidance across a variety of projects
  • Adhere to relevant codes of practice, UK regulations, and company policies
  • Work with the pre-construction team to appraise various engineering options on temporary work
  • Liaise with other departments/teams to provide input on engineering challenges/solutions
  • Design and prepare design drawings and specifications for a range of temporary works
  • Provide on-site inspections and verification inspections
  • Provide strong technical support to tenders
  • Frequent site visits
  • Development and mentoring of junior engineers

Qualifications/Relevant Experience:

  • 5-7 years of post-graduate experience in Structural Temporary Engineering work
  • QQI Level 8 or 9 degree in structural engineering from an accredited engineering program
  • Chartered, or working towards chartership, with a relevant professional body
  • Excellent understanding of soil-structure interaction, steelwork, timber, and concrete design
  • Experienced in designing and checking temporary works
  • Strong technical ability in all aspects of their field of Engineering
  • Excellent understanding of Eurocodes and British Standards applicable to temporary works
  • Proficient in the use of AUTOCAD, TEDDS, SICA (or similar) analysis software
  • Experience in Network Rail Procedures would be an advantage
  • Good understanding of geotechnical issues and design
  • Experienced in using IT solutions for preparing and checking designs
  • Proficient in the use of Word and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines, within budget and to schedule
